There are eight submission categories in the 2020 Awards program:
TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION — recognizing organizations who strive for innovation as they boldly guide our industry into the next phase of technology advancement.
Commercial/Enterprise Operation — operation or use-case highlighting the potential and opportunity in unmanned systems to better serve an industry or sector
Hardware - Platform — unmanned air, ground or maritime platform, automated vehicle or truck, etc.
Hardware - Component — sensor, processor, payload or component
Software — program, software-based solution, application, mobile app, etc. for unmanned or autonomous systems
Services — professional services related to or for the unmanned systems industry e.g., remote pilot, inspection, training and education, data collection and analysis, insurance, legal, etc.
XCELLENCE in Innovation — the latest and most cutting-edge unmanned technologies, products or solutions
HUMANITARIAN (FREE CATEGORY) — demonstrating the role unmanned technology can play in bettering our world. AUVSI seeks to recognize organizations and/or individuals who have made a significant impact using unmanned systems to serve in a humanitarian or philanthropic effort. Sponsored by:
PUBLIC SAFETY (FREE CATEGORY) — demonstrating unmanned systems as a critical tool in saving lives, protecting our communities and improving the safety of our first responders. AUVSI recognizes public safety organizations and/or individuals who have made a significant impact using unmanned systems to serve and protect their communities. Sponsored by:
